Rocio Pelayo has served as a Technology Strategist for over 25 years, across major international consulting firms. She also serves as a mentor for entrepreneurs and start-ups in accelerators that serve diverse opportunities, helping to bring diversity in funding and career growth. 3 years ago, she kicked off an initiative for LATAM, to bring education and innovation around sexuality. She believes that being able to openly speak about sex, understanding our sexuality as part of our health, and raising awareness will decrease pregnancy rates, human-to-human aggression, and sexual assault. Her Podcast, Hablemos SexTech: El Futuro del Sexo, has had great success across LATAM. She is an international speaker and collaborates with organizations and technology initiatives to bring awareness to the SexTech industry. Simon Dubé

PhD
Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Kinsey Institute, Simon Dubé, PhD, specializes in human sexuality, sextech, and Erobotics, the study of human-machine erotic interaction and co-evolution. His work also explores Space Sexology, and how we can integrate sex research into space programs. He received his doctorate in Psychology from Concordia University. He is the communication representative of the International Academy of Sex Research and a co-Chair of the International Congress on Love & Sex with Robots. His work is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).

Falling in love with ChatGPT: An experimental study

Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) are enabling increasingly complex intimate and sexual relationships with artificial erotic agents – or erobots. These agents possess enhanced natural language processing capabilities, making it challenging to discern them from human partners. Yet, limited research exists on the potential for humans to form intimate relationships with erobots that possess interactive capabilities indistinguishable from us. This study thus investigates whether humans can develop intimacy with partners perceived as either human or artificial. In a matchmaking scenario, participants were exposed to 10 responses generated by ChatGPT, utilizing a modified version of the Interpersonal Closeness Generation Task, also known as the “36 questions to fall in love.” We manipulated participants’ perception of whether the responses originated from a human or an artificial partner. We then assessed whether individuals could develop interpersonal closeness and erotic interest towards an artificial partner when they believed the answers came from a human. Research Leader, Deloitte Center for Health Solutions

Wendy Gerhardt is the Research Leader for the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions. With a career in health care spanning over 20 years, she is responsible for leading a team of researchers and conducting rigorous research to inform health care system stakeholders about emerging trends and opportunities.
Her focus is on highlighting where innovation can solve for the industry’s challenges. Prior to joining Deloitte, Gerhardt held multiple roles in strategy/planning for a health system and research for health care industry information solutions. She holds a BBA from the University of Michigan and an MA in health policy from Northwestern University. She is based in Detroit.
