Creators Sylvia Day. Romanian 2. I didn’t just love this book I am enamored, smitten and besotted yes I looked in a thesaurus for these terms with it! Next, I need to say that this is a spoiler-free review. I promise I won’t give away the farm, you’re safe with me. Let’s begin The story. I’m going to go as far as saying that I think this is the best book of the series so far. Yep I said it. Yes, you still get to see everyone else in the Crossfire world. And you even meet a few new faces.

However, this book was about Gideon and Eva – their relationship, their feelings for one another, their trust in one another, their love, their communication, them dealing with obstacles, just them.

Reading their story was like being in a room with clouds, rainbows and ponies – you didn’t want to leave. Day took a lot of time with these two characters and showed so much character development that I fell in love with both of them more than I already was, which at one point I thought was impossible.

Every issue that was brought up in the first two books were addressed head on. There was no subterfuge, no drawing out of an issue, no skirting around an issue to deal with it later, no running away. I got more than I would think to ask for and then some. This book was clearly planned out and tied together a lot of the missing pieces by answering lingering questions. I could sit here and gush about all of my favorite parts, but I don’t want to spoil anything for you and I have no doubt you will not be disappointed.

Just trust me I think I can go on for hours about the Gideon we see in this book. This Gideon is different, still the same commanding, challenging, absolutely gorgeous, damaged man, but he’s different. He’s honest, trusting, romantic, endearing, open and dare I say Let’s not tip toe around this here. The Gideon I met in the first two books was fantastic, but he had issues and he screwed things up with Eva more than a few times. Hell, he “broke up” with her in Reflected In You and was “with” Corrinne.

Well let me tell you, Gideon has cleaned up his act and is prepared to atone for his sins. The amount of love and devotion that Gideon has for Eva is indescribable – hell he literally killed for her! He would do absolutely anything for her and he made sure she knew and saw this in everything he did.

If I ever doubted Gideon’s commitment to Eva, every single doubt has been erased. I think Ms. Day just ruined me not only for all future men out there in the real world, but I think in the book world as well. Gideon has to be one of the most damaged fictional characters I have ever read about. My heart broke for him in the first two books, but in this one I just don’t have any words.

Unlike Eva, Gideon is still living in his nightmare of a past and dealing with the demons they bring. But, with the help of Eva, he is able to heal a bit and very slowly. I am hopeful that by the end of the series Gideon will have found peace. Oh Eva how she has grown. In the prior books, I liked Eva but her insecurity and poor decisions always annoyed me.

Just like this Gideon is different, so is this Eva. This Eva has strength, confidence in herself and in Gideon and clarity. She knows who she is and she owns it. She’s still fiesty and stands up for herself to Gideon, Cary, her parents, and any other adversary. She’s rational and reasonable and it is very easy to be in her head because her thoughts make sense. I think that is what made this book so amazing. Being in Eva’s mind and seeing everything from her perspective was so easy to follow and understand.

As much as I loved the past two books, I had my doubts about these two a few times while reading them. Sometimes I wondered if it was just a physical attraction that drew them together.

I questioned whether their relationship would be as strong if the sex wasn’t as good. All those doubts were thrown out the window with this book.

The level of understanding, the magnetism they seemed to have to one another, the ability to know what the other is thinking, the lack of boundaries, the complete and utter honesty between them, the playfulness and banter, the balance of power, the acceptance they had for one another.

Together these two can conquer anything and I look forward to seeing where they go in the rest of the series. Because this book was mostly all about Gideon and Eva, there was a lot of sex would you expect anything else from Gideon?

Normally, repetitive sex scenes tend to bore me and I feel like sometimes they are used as fluff by authors. However, not Ms. She managed to keep me entertained, engrossed and envious in every single scene that she wrote. As a reader, I felt the emotion behind every touch, taste and kiss.

These two characters have histories of horrible sexual abuse. To see them exploring each other and taking one another to different heights sexually was breathtakingly beautiful.

You know where Gideon and Eva stand with one another and you have no doubt that they were meant for one another. There are two more books on the way dates currently TBD. For those speculating on the motivation behind the additional two books, they should have their doubts erased after reading this book.

Although you are content with where Gideon and Eva leave off, their story is by no means over. There is still so much more to explore and address. If Ms. Day writes Books 4 and 5 the way she wrote this one, I may be begging her to write another two! Bring it on! So I wholeheartedly recommend you read this book, especially if you read the first two. I do not recommend you wait until the series is out either.

Why deprive yourself of an absolutely amazing book out of principle? This book was single-handedly one of the best books I have read all year. Sylvia Day hit it out of the park with this book and I cannot wait to see where she takes the story next. This review was originally posted on Book Reader Chronicles. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. Almost a 5 star I love Sylvia’s way of writing, the attention to detail is spot on – not to much or too little, it’s just perfect.

The one thing that takes a mark of is that Eva is starting to annoy me with regards to Brett!! She’s just married Gideon, they are head over heels obsessed with each other yet have so much self doubt, everyone’s standing in their way, Corriene, Deanna, Dr Lucas, the list is endless but apart from Corriene, the main one is Brett!

Eva’s past lover who now wants her back, she’s supposedly keeping her distance esp after she kissed him at the start and not only broke Gideon’s heart but caused a full blown brawl!!! Goes to premier of his song which is about her?? Ah hello I know who I’d want to spend my time with and it most def isn’t Brett!!!! Bar that, it’s all good! I have been a huge fan of the Crossfire series ever since I first read Bared to You so it feels like I had to wait forever for Entwined with You to finally be released.

Gideon and Eva are my favourite dysfunctional couple and I have to admit to having a huge crush on Gideon so I was excited to spend more time with them both. I was a bit nervous when I discovered that the series had been extended from the trilogy originally planned into a five book series though, I was worried that there wouldn’t be enough story to fill that many books and that we’d end up with a couple of filler books. It remains to be seen how much there is to learn in the next two books but I enjoyed this latest instalment and will be at the front of the queue for Captivated by You when it is released.

In the previous book we saw exactly how far Gideon is prepared to go to keep Eva safe but now he is facing the fallout. Not only does he have to try and come to terms with what he did but he also has to make sure nothing can be pinned on him and he can only hope that it doesn’t change the way Eva looks at him.

He is pushed into taking extreme measures to keep his secret and it shows just how far his and Eva’s relationship has progressed when she is able to trust him no matter how bad things look.

Their relationship still isn’t perfect by a long shot but things are better than they ever have been. I really want to see the pair of them talk to each other more rather than constantly using sex as a way of communicating but it was good to see them start to get a handle on their jealousy issues and have a little faith in each other. One thing I think I missed was the conflict that was so prevalent in previous books, there are things that happen that could have added more drama to the story but on the whole they were handled much more quickly and with a lot less stress than before.

This is partly because of the growth that both Gideon and Eva have gone through but it does make for a less dramatic read and lets face it one of the reasons we love this couple so much is because of the drama! I never thought I’d hear myself say this especially about an erotic romance novel but I actually reached the point where I started to get bored of the constant sex scenes.

As you’d expect from Sylvia Day the scenes were all well written and incredibly hot but there are only so many ways to describe inserting tab A into slot B before it starts to get a little repetitive.

Gideon is still one of the sexiest literary heroes I’ve come across so I don’t want to lose the sex scenes completely but I’m hoping to see a little less of them in the next book and I’d love more focus to be on the couple spending time together outside of the bedroom. I was really pleased that we have finally started to learn a little more about Gideon’s past, we are still left with plenty of questions about what happened to cause his nightmares but it was nice to get a few answers.

I found myself getting incredibly annoyed with his mother in this book which surprised me because she has always seemed so nice before. Her attitude and behaviour was completely out of order this time around so it was nice to see Eva stand up for her man. I’m hoping for some kind of showdown with Eva’s mother in the future too because she is driving me crazy with the way she stalks Eva, the way that everyone just panders to her only makes her behaviour worse. Then you have the side story with Cary that shocked me and made me want to shake some sense into him!

I still can’t quite believe what he’s got himself mixed up in this time and I’m really hoping that he sorts himself out soon. Although Entwined with You wasn’t my favourite book in the series it was still a great book and I’m happy to have had my much needed Gideon fix.

I’m glad that the story didn’t end with a huge cliffhanger so as much as I’m looking forward to the next instalment I’m not quite as desperate to get my hands on it as I was this one. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Gideon and Eva and I find myself feeling happy that we have another 2 books to look forward to. Why Bother? Having read and first two books Bared To you, Reflected in You I enjoyed them enough to pre-order Entwined With You and like a good many other readers eagerly awaited it’s release and the conclusion of Gideon and Eva’s story.

Having taken the time to read the book twice and absorb it, I’m wondering why I bothered. I have to wonder why Sylvia Day wrote it? I’m not saying it isn’t very well written, because it is, for what it is.

A series of graphic, well written sex scenes held together with a tenuous story line. The book does very little to advance the story. Gideon does what Gideon does and Eva descends into a whining diva, obsessed with her own and everyone else’s looks including her father which is just Having spent two books extolling the gorgeousness of Gideon, to find her continuing in book three is unnecessary, repetitive and irritating..

However enter an old flame and it seems Eva isn’t only attracted to Gideon but also just about every other good looking man she sees. By the end of the book I couldn’t help but feel depressed and sorry for Gideon.

The story could easily have been concluded in a third book and it’s simply taking too long. No I won’t be buying books four and five.

Now this was more like it. I can not even begin to explain how much I absolutely loved this instalment. It was by far my favorite of the series. I’ll always find you. Remember my hatred for Eva? Well, we are still not BFFs but I think we are well and truly on our way to some form of a friendship. Don’t get me wrong, she still made some pretty stupid mistakes, and there were moments I still wanted to slap her. But going from plotting a way to murder a fictional character, to only wanting to slap her a few times?

This is major progress, my friends. You own me, Eva. When she would start one of her little hissy fits, or when she is trying to pick a fight from nothing, he would stop her.
