Education
Sex education is high-quality teaching and learning about a large variety of topics related to human sexuality. It explores values and beliefs, and it is comprehensive and factual. It helps people of all ages gain the skills that are needed to navigate relationships with self, partners, and community, and manage one’s own sexual health, mentally and physically. Sex education is a lifetime process as we grow and age into our unique selves.
Health
Sexual health is a state of physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being in relation to human sexuality; it includes disease, dysfunction, infirmity, and normal hormonal changes for all genders. Sexual health requires a positive and respectful approach to diagnosis and treatment and should be treated as part of the holistic health of an individual, both mentally and physically.
Safety
Sexual safety is a state in which the physical and psychological boundaries of individuals are maintained and respected through consent and the absence of violence. Consent in this case means that both partners agree to sexual activity. Sexual violence is a sexual act done against a person without their freely given consent. It includes clear examples of sexual assault, like rape, but also things like sending unwanted sexual photos or sharing photos without permission.
Relationships
A sexual relationship, also known as an intimate relationship, is characterized by physical or emotional intimacy between individuals and the self. It can be of different kinds and manifest itself in relationships intimate or sexual attractions. A relationship can have varying levels of intimacy, without sexual behavior, and it is possible to have more of one and less of another.
Pleasure
Sexual pleasure is the physical and/or psychological satisfaction and enjoyment derived from solitary or shared erotic experiences, including thoughts, dreams, and autoeroticism. Self-determination, consent, safety, privacy, confidence, and the ability to communicate and negotiate sexual relations are key enabling factors for pleasure to contribute to sexual health and well-being
